  45. And the Fred said:  Mark my words, even IF they start making Amigas 
  46. again (which would be great since me winning $40 million in the lottery

  48. is a lot lower down on the odds list) they will NOT be the Amigas you 
  49. are all used to.  If they go to RISC processors they will have to 
  50. re-write the much loved Amiga OS, and everything you are running now 
  51. will be incompatible (except MAYBE at ridiculously slow emulation 
  52. speed--remember all the trouble Apple had?).  Also, it would be a long 
  53. time before you would see anything available--like over a year at
  54. least. 
  55.  By that time, even more of the Windows issues will have been settled 
  56. and the Intel chips will have more than doubled in speed (the P6 will
  57. be 
  58. out in early fall).  Also by that time, a loaded Pentium 100 will cost 
  59. around $2000-- how much will one of those *new* Amigas cost loaded, 
  60. $6000 maybe? (After all, how much was a loaded 4000 including a 24 bit 
  61. card and CR ROM? I say calling it a 4000 was quite apt.)

  63.     So give it a rest already. I don't see any of the PC users posting 
  64. that Amiga users are whiney fools, so why must you?  You know what it 
  65. is?  You are all scared to death that you are being left behind.  Well,

  67. stick with the Amiga and you surely will be.  "Maybe not today, maybe 
  68. not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life."

  70.     By the way don't talk about the Amiga rising like Phoenix until you

  72. can go into a store and buy one.  Until then, it's still more like Dr.

  78. PS: Two companies that I know of (Gateway and Dell) are offering loaded
  79.  
  80. Pentuim 120 systems (including quad speed CD-Rom drives--with a 3 disk 
  81. changer on the Gateway, over a gig drive, modem, sound card, 64bit 
  82. graphics--128 bit on the Dell, 17 inch monitor, etc.) for $4299.  How 
  83. much is a stipped Amiga 4000 again?
